I haven't tried it, but it's supposed to be worth while.

Let us know how you get on.

Won't you have to hoover it first? Wink

I've tried it a couple of years. The main challenge is to stop the mice eating them; and then remembering to plant them out in spring.

Although, I guess you could plant directly in the ground in a greenhouse/tunnel; or outside under fleece.

We plant direct into the ground about now, in fact it was my job for tomorrow, but the lottie is now like a bog.
We sow them quite thickly, and have peas about 3 weeks earlier than spring sowing.
We are trying Douce de Provence this time round.

We've always had mice eat ours whenever we planted them.

Until we tried a wizard wheeze suggested by next door neighbour. You make holes in plastic drainpipe/guttering (cut in half, if that's not obvious), fill with compost, plant peas or beans in them and then hang them up in greenhouse or polytunnel. They get a chance to sprout and grow a bit and the mice can't get them because hanging up in the air!
