Overlockers

I have borrowed one to try and I have found it quite good, easy to use and it means I dont have to zig zag my seams.

I would not buy a new one, I would be looking for a second hand one, I was wondering if anyone has experience of these and are they worth the money?

I've got an overlocker and find they are great when they are properly adjusted, however mine has got out of sync and I need at least a couple of clear hours to devote to it, hasnt happened yet so its sittng unused.

Mrs JB is sitting next to me so here's her experience

overlockers are worth it for dress making but not for home furnishing.

They also use a lot of thread so it's best to pick basic colours and stick to them. Also buy cones if you can.

Never ever unthread it, tie the old and new thread together and pull it through.

Buy a swear box for when you are threading it.

Finally, enjoy. They're great, they're fantastic.
