Packaging Logo ?

I am hoping to sell some of my items at craft fairs, farmers markets.
I want to make a rubber stamp or sterio to print my logo onto recycled (new) double wall corrugated board. The item being wired to it.
After your helpfull advice for 2steps logo and Stacey's packaging, I welcome your comments on my effort ?
Cheers, Dave.

Like the white horse symbol - but have you no other e-mail other than a hotmail one? If not, it would probably be better to leave it off, IMHO
Blacksmith

Thanks Penny, wanted to provide a method of contact, ideally my .com website when finances allow.
But thought for now email addy. Perhaps a separate stamp at the bottom of the card ?
Difficult to concentrate with Toyah looking at me like that... Embarassed Impure thoughts Shocked )

Mobile number would be better than a hotmail addy - it will just make what you do look cheap I think... and what you do is beautiful Very Happy

Sorry about Toyah - think about fly fishing or something Very Happy

A domain name/website and email neednt be expensive, I think mine cost £8 to set up and about £3.50 a month to maintain and that came with the shopping cart software as well.

Did think of putting my mobile number on, but with my shift work decided that someone phoning me at 11am after a night shift would not do my sales any good !
(Om the advice of Radio 2 night time DJ Alex Lester, simply inform cold callers, quite honestly.... " I am Naked" They tend to ring off ?)
Damselfly nymphs ...... damselfly nymphs..... damselfly nymphs .... damselfly nymphs... no not working Confused

OK what about cod, there's nothing sexy about cod Shocked

It is very cheap to get your own domain - as Sally says, and worth it.

Make that VERY cheap.
Did you know you could be countrycrafts.org.uk for £1.99 a year?
With mail service included... Cool

Re the graphic. Large areas of solid colour mean lots of ink and can be messy (esp with a rubber stamp - though texturing the rubber can help).

Can you get your board in green and then put just white print on it?
tahir

Dave, you need a corporate logo, one that you'll put on any invoices etc, the website and the banner here.

Do you want the horse as your logo?

(I'll hang back on the banner till you've decided what you want as your corporate logo.

I throw myself at the mercy of the court, and the wit and wisdom of the good people of this forum. Rolling Eyes
In other words......... dunno, what do you think ?

I work in the printing/packaging industry, Wink
Will look into websites, thanks for your advice. Very Happy

Has anyone got the time to knock up a few logo ideas for young Dave?

If not I'll have a go but bit busy right now.

.org.uk is reserved for non profit organisations though. So it would be misleading to use that (or .org) .co.uk or .com would be the right TLD to use.
Green Man

The same goes for your web page Blacksmith, It would benifit from a better address. Perhaps that would be all you needed to put on your logo would be a better link to your web page. Love the logo though. Wink

I could be wrong but I remember reading something about you had to put a proper contact address on web sites now. I remember a tread on one of my forums I will have to go and have a root around.
Nick

Yep, if you're a business you must display full contact details for the business on the website. They should be clear and useful.

Link.

I don't believe its *reserved* for *non-profit* organisations.
Appropriate for, most certainly. But not I believe *reserved* for.
IMHO the catch-all of .org(.uk) ain't misleading...
For example http://www.navitron.org.uk/

Now countrycrafts.CO.UK and .COM are taken.
However .ORG.UK & .LTD.UK & .ME.UK are available *all* at £1.99 each per year via the link above.
Strictly IMHO, .ltd.uk is wrong if he isn't a limited company, and .me.uk is a bit pink and fluffy... which is why I suggested the .org.uk

And CKR will note that the £1.99 includes forwarding web requests to wherever he has his webspace... Very Happy

I found this on a nother forum.

"By law, all mail shots, paper information etc needs to have a contact name and address on it.

A business card should include:
Name of business (& nature of business or tag line)
Business adress
Telephone number (could also include a mobile number)
email address
web site address"
Green Man

Sounds good then. In a past business I could only get a .uk.com and it worked well.
Blacksmith

Thanks for all the info........... an eBay shop is looking more and more favorable Confused
Penny Outskirts

Have you looked at Ebay Express Dave? It's a new thing where you just buy, so it's not an auction. Worth a look for your type of thing I would think?

You have to have a Ltd company number and name that matches the web name you want to register, it checks...

...and how did we find this out... Embarassed well when it first came out, we noticed that tesco.ltd wasn't taken. It'd be rude not to try and buy it now wouldn't it Very Happy Sadly, you can't unless you have the company name registered Laughing Laughing
