Reciept book, order book, calculator if like me you get flustered when there is a queue and forget how to add up. Spare pen, snacks, flask of hot drink.
Hope it goes really well for you

warm clothes! hat - thick socks. a bit of carpet to stand on? a stool?
Kettle? or will you buy brews?
...and a big bag of patience...
|

order book and calculator- good idea!! I've gone for an inside stall- smaller but warmer!! There is a good kitchen there serving food and drink
edit- it is only from 10 to 1, so I can manage that- and a local friend has offered lunch and post mortem afterwards

ooo nice pots!
indoor farmers markets are sooooo much better than the outsidey ones, surelyf or customers as well as sellers?

I've got to get throwing again and get the kiln here actually finished!!!!
There is a large tub of kiln cement waiting for me in Abergavenny.....
There is too much to do and I need someone else to organize me!!!
Yes, there WILL be bowls- and that makes a good reason to go to another MDS meet.....

Only just spotted this thread. Got to go now, but will post later with more things
paper to write down your takings and make a note of any commissions people would like / their contact details
float of change from the bank
some info / leaflet about yourself and your work
business cards / contact details to hand out
inidividuals signs for each type of pot ?
something to eat and drink - I found that at some FMs there were no snacky-sized foods on sale
agree indoor markets much more pleasant than outdoors
best of luck !

I would take a flask, even if they serve stuff. When I used to go my friend on the stall next to me, and myself hardly had time to go off to the loo, let alone wait for a cup of tea to be brewed.

It's much more civilised if you can get the vehicle loaded up the night before, instead of a mad scramble in the morning.
Will seating be provided as well as a table ? If not, take a folding chair. You may get a chance to sit down
I also tend to take my 'market stuff' in a plastic crate, including :
sellotape
string
clothes pegs [can peg price lists / info up onto the string like a washing line hanging behind the stall, fix string with whateverv suits the wall surface]
scissors
drawing pins
felt tips
blutack
cleaning cloth

Oh, good luck!!!
The carpet is essential, and a sense of humour and moral support, and someone to come halfway and let you go for a pee!!!

I know they've been mentioned already but it's worth repeating the three essentials: drink / chair / helper!
And don't forget the float!
|
gz

Now I can sit down and make a new list from all the suggestions
Will let you know how it goes

Several pens because people will walk off with your only one after writing you a huge cheque
Patience and a sense of humour.
Your smile.
Pob lwc. I'm sure it'll be a very successful day.

p.s the trio of jugs are beautiful BTW, I love the detailing where the handle joins the body and the diff coloured band around them, very, very nice.

The market went well, lots of interest, "Christmas Shopping" done by many people next month...I will be back!!!!
They really miss the last (late) potter, so I was welcomed by stallholders and market customers alike
I made enough to make it worthwhile, and enough to spur me on
