Peace and quiet in the countrysideNOT, I have 5 vans, 1 mini digger, 2 dumper trucks, 2 cement mixers, 2 bloody great holes, a giant plastic tank loads of manic French men , and all so I can go to the loo........................eventually, time for a drive out I think.

We now have a fully functional Fosse septique, it was worth the aggro, just the rest of the house to finish, it will take some time but we are getting there slowly, it doesn't need much of an excuse for us to bugger off for the day.

No peace and quiet here today: not the squealing of tiny pigs, or me yelping when one bites me, but RAF flying and the neighbour FINALLY bringing in his hay. There's only one of those I don't like...

Hi Mochyn, no jets today only a couple of low flying transports, think they must have been following the A20 whilst the navigator had a kip.

Over the last few evenings we've been delighted to watch a bi plane performing aerobatics in the valley over Ludlow! As we're at the top of the hill we get the whole show up close and for free. He does loop the loop and corkscrews fabulously and even tips his wings at us when he's finished. Wonderful!
The other frequent aerial delight are the hot air balloons that appear about 50 yars from the house over the brow of the hill. The only pity is that Charlie, our aged terrier, is petrified of 'em!

Love your blog, went to Ludlow last year for the food festival, loved it, trying to find something similar in France that won't take a day to drive too, there are plenty about it is just finding them. Bumper harvests of blackberries, plums, sloes, cobnuts ,walnuts and chestnuts just hanging there for the picking, you don't need to starve in France
