Pedigree rams for sale, £50 each2 pedigree proven Dorset Down rams one born 2004 one 2005. Both from very good lines, scrapie status of both ARR/ARR
These rams both throw excellent stock and are easy lambing having been used with great success on commercial crossbreds, Dorset Downs and Shetlands with not one aided lambing. Both are friendly and very easy to handle.
Must go to good home where they will have companion when not working or together to larger flock. Not suitable as pets!
£50 each.........this is a bargain!
We are in a blue tongue free zone so these rams are able to go anywhere!

Why so cheap? And any photos?

Right! They are cheap for the following reasons:
1.Its the end of the season so not a great market for rams
2.I don't want to put such good rams in the market, where everyone wants a continental and they will not sell to anyone who appreciates what they are and may even be bought by the meat man!
3. I want them to go to someone who will look after them and give possibly a beginner a good safe to handle ram
4. The breed sale is not until next August by which time they would be 3 & 4 and the minimum reserve at the breed sale is £250 which they would not make and which is incidentally what I paid for one of them!
5. I don't rip people off and want to benefit those who cannot afford £250 plus!
6. I have sold my Dorset flock to concentrate on wool processing from other peoples flocks and therefore the lads are now without work
Happy to tell anything about them. Pic is of the older ram Henry the other one Harold has cauliflower ears due to a fight with a wether! (wethers fault!) Neither will hurt humans and live happily together/ with other rams when not working!

If it was up to me I'd be there like a shot.... I dont think my Dad would be so keen though - I will mention it to him if I remember.
What would they be like crossed with dorset x texel ewes? or Speckled faced ewes?

Hi Marion
That would be an excellent cross........they stamp everything with a strong dorset stamp. We find the lambs grow like weeds and often kill out at 24kg E or U 3L at 16 weeks off good grass.
