Peg Looms.After reading another thread,I am intrigued by how you weave fleece to make rugs.Can someone explain please? |

Isn't there an article? Basically I have a long block of wood with a line of pegs in it, that are removable and have little holes to attach thread to in them. I then card raw fleece and twist it a little, then weave it in and out of the pegs. Once the pegs are packed full of fleece, I pull them out and push the lot down the threads. Eventually you end up with a rug! Or a bag, or.... |

It doesn't have to be fleece: I made one last month using torn up blankets. Loooks really good. |

Just make sure you don't plan to hatch anything at the same time! |

I've got one and have seriously reduced my heap of fleeces by making futons. Very warm and cosy they are too

Just ask 'sort-of son-in-law' (who happens to be a carpenter) about how to make one and it appears for Christmas made from a lovely oak block with two sizes of pegs.
