Plastic/wire tiesDaughters second birthday and just cleared some debris.
What really gets me mad is the number of little ties used to hold toys in packaging. It was only a cheap set of toys but must have had 30 plus of these ties. WHY
Ah well plant ties now
Off to sponge half set jelly off carpet

Drives me mad too. Some of them even have screws fixing the toy to the box. Ridiculous

Dont quote me on it, but think it's so the toy can't be removed from the box, and stolen, more difficult to steal the whole box.
I think I read it somewhere.

That makes some limited sense - except that the packaging would have cost about as much as cheap plastic toys
Our fault for letting other daughter buy them - about £5

For anyone looking for plant ties that are more durable and softer than string...
I noted an interesting £1.20 something product in Wilkinson's.
Wire coated with smooth, spongy soft (green coloured) plastic... about as fat as a drinking straw, several (continuous) metres in the pack.
Fully realising that hand-spun locally-grown jute twine is a more sustainable option, I'm sure it'll solve someone's problem.
It did occur to me that it would be better than pipe-cleaner for kids doing frame-by-frame animations...
... or for training branches to grow in particular directions, or ...
