Popcorn

How do you get the sticky syrup to stick.

I prefer salt, easy but smallest child wants sugar.

This sounds familiar, I will, in the meantime, do a search. Is there anythin new on Downsizer? Smile
Penny

Melt a little butter with a little sugar and a little syrup until not quite cooked enough to turn to toffee, then pour it over the popcorn.... and stir very very well......mmmmm

Or a quick way, melt butter and pour onto popcorn, mix in well, then sprinkle with castor sugar

Not that I do this often you understand Very Happy
Pilsbury

once you pour the syrup over it pop in a single layer on a baking sheet into a fairly hot oven for a couple of mins, take it out and let it cool a bit before tucking in.
Im told this works but I dont really like popcorn so cannot say for sure.
Barefoot Andrew

Great minds, Pilsbury!
Barefoot Andrew

Hmm, not a good start to my revolt.
A.
Cathryn

We finished it while waiting for replies. Smile However tomorrow we will try the Pilsbury way... Cool

Salty is still the best.

We might need to vote...
Rob R

Marmite? Mar-mite!? Shocked Are you sick? even thinking such a thing. puke_r

Salty is still the best.
wellington womble

I like both, depending on what mood I'm in. I demand an option! Wink
Penny

Jamanda

Darn it. I'd have voted for that. I went for sweet as it was.

Laughing

It wasn't just me, anyway!
Fee

Salty, definitely salty, though chilli is my favourite. Popped in some chilli oil instead of plain, yummmm. Then salt added of course Wink

Never tried marmite, that sounds good!

He shares the true love of marmite, yes. In fact, I think he puts more on his toast than I do, and that's saying something!

Laughing He says that he doesn't mind people not liking it, means there's more in the World for "meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".
TAVASCAROW

What about honey?
I like it sweet but def not sugar, has to be honey.
Very Happy

I'll let him off, by that same token the more he eats the less of the stuff there is in the world. Very Happy

Laughing

And I like the idea of a poll that alters all the time. Laughing
sean

Nobody's added a stoat-related option yet. Slackers.
Penny

Cool
Rob R

Option 3 & option 7 are the same. Neutral
Nanny

what is it about the uk that they have to put strange things on so many normal foods

marmite does not go on popcorn

honey does not go on popcorn

the only way a sugar syrup goes on popcorn is when it is cracker jack and comes in a box with peanuts and a prize in every pack- as every american kid certainly used to know

normal popcorn is with salt and butter.....there is no other way

any thing else is not to be thought of

chili popcorn..............my god what has the world come to
Fee

Laughing Don't knock it till you've tried it!

Excellent, an agreement has been reached, we are all happy with our own beliefs and feelings and are willing to accept other's views Very Happy

Now can this be an end of this pointless anti marmite nonsense and we can all get on with our happy marmite filled lives Very Happy

You had me until the last four words Laughing
happytechie

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be Wink
Rob R

Hey everyone has a flaw, yours may be liking marmite, mine's liking people who like marmite Wink
Slim

why marmite? Why not just add some dried brewer's yeast? (leftover from a large brewer, not yet to be brewed with) YUMMMM

The only time sweetness should go towards popcorn is when making popcorn balls.
Nick

No options for bacon, or garlic?

Tsk.
JB

Or even an option for popcorn is a vile abomination that should not be granted the right to exist.
