pre-retirement courseI'm going on a free pre-retirement course run by my work soon. Although I've still got over 10 years to go I've got so little in the way of pension etc that I want to find out what I can do to make the best use of my resources. I'm hoping to find out about benefits etc (even though this will change over the years it will give me some idea) and there's a chance of some individual advice.
So....any suggestions as to what questions I should be asking? The big one I can think of is...should I try and buy more years in my pension (which seems to be very expensive), start a second one or save the money? What else should I be asking about?

Some pension schemes give you the chance to commute some of your fund - it might be worth asking about ?

I did a pre-retirement course before Christmas because I finish in July
I think you will find that the people running the course know the kinds of questions you would ask if you could think of them (if they are any good). Everyone's circumstances are different, so you will not get detailed answers to your specific situation - that is where you have to have a personal consultation - mine is due next month when I hope to find out more.

Let know if you find out anything that you think 'I wish I'd known that 10 years ago'!
