Pretty birdieshttp://www.spoolsewing.com/blog/2008/05/16/bird-mobile/
It's not like I need another project to add to my list of "things I'd like to do one day", but this turned up serendipitously just after I considered throwing away a small bag of lovely soft stuffing stuff on the grounds that I'd never have a use for it.... And it would be a lovely way of using up odd bits of vintage fabric .

well I was so taken with the birdies that I printed out the pattern straight away - and then showed my mum who also liked them a lot.
We got out the sewing machine - me, never having sewed anything in my life, had a lesson from my expert mother as she sewed half a bird. Then I did the rest on my own. haha quite simple for all you pro's = but I'm so pleased that I did something with a sewing machine!!
Now I want to do more : P
here they are - I haven't closed their tails yet, need another lesson for that methinks !
the one on the left is the rare flat headed bird of carmarthen, and the rest seem to have endured head injuries, but seem quite perky none the less.

They look really nice. I haven't managed to make any yet because although the OH printed it outfor me, he left it at work.

I really like those. Would be nice to stuff them with lavender perhaps
Ooh, I know, I might do some gold ones and add them to midwinter decorations and hampers, they'd be fun and a bit different
