Pumpkin Pointers

I have never cooked pumpkin, ever Embarassed

well except for tonight that it is, I chopped a small pumpkin (tough job!) scooped out the seeds and roasted it. Tried a bit but it's really rather too sweet for savoury if you see what I mean.

Anyone got any pointers on sweet dishes for pumpkin? (preferably without cream or pastry) Smile

stuff it like you would with a marrow, eg. savoury mince or spicey veg and when you serve it, treat the skin like a pot, scoup out the flesh and filling as you go Wink

I might try that if I get a more savoury one Smile

After trawling the internet I cooked Pumpkin Halwa, adapted from this BBC Recipe; http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/pumpkinhalwa_73020.shtml

I didn't bother with the rosewater and the nuts, I used mashed roasted pumpkin instead of grated and a little less added sugar and butter but the back of the spoon test says it's gorgeous Very Happy

Also very fun and easy to make!
