Pure blonde mangalitza weaners

we have a few mangalitza weaners ready in a couple of weeks.
They are pure breed blonde, birth notified with BPA
boars £100
Gilts £200
All stock outdoor reared.
They are very friendly pigs and make ideal pets, smallholder pigs. Very thrifty and easy to keep.

Cute! Shame I don't have the space...
Mr O

he he! 100 quid for a weaner, I am laughing my trotters off!
smiffy

Hi Mr O

I know it is expensive, but we paid a lot more and they are about 1/2 the price of other weaners of this breed. Some breeders are asking as much as £800 for cross breed colours.

They are very rare, I am sure the price will fall in a few years but at the moment they are commanding top dollar, we are selling as cheep as we can to help establish the breed. Kune Kunes still make £150 for registared weaners. So £100 for mangalitza is a bargin.

We do have other rare breeds that we sell for £45.00 a weaner, but this just about covers the cost of the inputs. Pigs have been too cheep for too long, and is why many breeders are getting out, risking the loss of many rare breeds.

This applies to other livestock too, prices should always be as much as is reasonably possible.

I've had/got Mangalitzas and it's a reasonable price, if it's the breed you want. Very tasty they are, too. And one of the best for making air dried hams.

Well, yes, I thought that too but didn't want to upset her.

Mine aren't pets.

They're food, but they still get cuddles.
