Putting the feeler out- QuailsOk, so in the pipe line, well more like in the neck of the tap, I'm going to start breeding for egg layers (but they are dual purpose).
Would anyone be interested in buying Quails off me either as hatching eggs, day olds (possibilty), 2 week olds, 4 weeks olds or batches of 10-15 POLs or just buying eggs to eat.
Don't know prices yet for these things, i'd have to work it out once the cages and incubator is bought/built. I'd be looking to start selling by Jan-Feb.
The layer will be used for 8 months then eaten or i could sell them on at a much reduced rate, quails live upto 2-3 years, so would have one or maybe two more seasons of laying.
p.s my smallholding sitting business is still going and will do so whilst having the quails, just that i've come to the decision that i won't be able to have pigs for 3 years so i've gone down a different route until then.
