Q about code in apps.

When writing code for a website, you can right click on anyones website, and see the code, which is really handy for me, when you don't know how to do something.

Is there a way of doing that when you are writing an app?

No not really because code in apps is usually compiled to machine code.

The main way we do that is look in the API or by googling

What is the API? How do I find that.

I have an idea for an app, and you know me, it is worth a lot of googling, and asking people.

An API is the application program interface, it's the details about functions within a program. It's dependent on the language the app is being written in.

There are atleast 5 programming languages that you can write apps in, what platform are you trying to write it for?

When you write an app you sometimes, but not always, want to allow that app to interact with other programmes (or apps, we use the term loosely). An API is often used to feed an app with data that can't be contained within the app itself.
