Quail By Mail is interviewed by Faircompanies in California

I operate an ethical fashion label called Quail By Mail in Devon. Quail specialises in organic and Fairtrade fashion for women and the entire collection is made in England, mostly in rural Devon.

I was recently interviewed by Kirsten Dirksen, Director of *Faircompanies in California. Dirksen, an Emmy award-winner, is a producer, director, writer, shooter, editor who has dedicated her career to making entertainment television with an eco message. Her work has appeared on MTV, Oxygen, NBC, WE, Discovery Channel, The Sundance Channel and the Travel Channel. She graduated from Harvard University in 1992 with a B.A. in Economics.

That is a great article. You should put a link to that in your sig and on your website if you haven't already.
Quail By Mail

I'm linking all over the place! I think it important to inform people of what I do, why I do it and how I do it.

Oooh. What did you get? Is it on Quail's website?
frewen

Yes it is - the splodge bag (although I did like the look of the cowhide one too )

jamanda

Very nice.
Quail By Mail

Frewen...I thought the bag you bought was for someone else's birthday!!!!
frewen

No - silly - they might have got the wrong thing Laughing
Quail By Mail

So are you a bag lush?
frewen

No - I own the grand total of three bags

One for funerals - black, 6 years old
One carpet bag - a year old (last years birthday present - big enough for a small cloth nappy collection)
Your bag Cool
Quail By Mail

there's a book by Prudence Mapstone (scrumbler extraordinaire) called "Never too many handbags"! Clearly you don't subscribe to that theory.

Nor do I. I have one very good leather bag.
Quail By Mail

Here's the Cowhide Hip Satchel.

The leather is actually Scottish deerskin married with super soft cowhide. From an ethical point of view, this bag is incredibly sustainable because the deerskin is actually a by-product of highland estates venison and the skins are handled by the leatherworkers during countless processes.
