Not sure, but it's like plants that produce barren seeds. Chestnuts and pine nuts are prime examples, sometimes 90% duds |

domestic ducks and geese do, i have never seen it in wild ones but absence of data does not mean it does not happen |

Dunno, but when I was a kid I watched a blackbird through the nesting season, there were 3 eggs,I saw the chicks, and eventually the nest was left, and there was an egg left behind, and it was unfertilized |
