Ravens.

I went fishing off the rocks this morning and blanked but I did manage to capture these images of large raven fledglings on their nest.
I was able to press the right buttons on the camera and take the pictures from 60 to 70 yards away, so that I didn't disturb them.

I was very surprised that the ravens were still hanging around the nest site, because raven chicks are one of the earliest in the year to hatch. These probably hatched in February. This raven nesting site has been active for at least the last ten years and probably longer.

london birds might be ok to eat but i recon inch cubes and a 30 mins boil would be sensible

good prep hygiene might be more important than recipes with some critters

ps my cat thought them delicious but he was a bit hard

Lovely pictures, thanks Bodger. We have heard a few round our way, but goodness knows where they are nesting, if they are.

Great photos, I've never quite managed to pin down where the nests are on this farm. They are amazing birds and and that's despite their ability to slice a sheep open in minutes. A lot of our time is spent going round the flock, checking that sheep don't get stuck and become victims of this gruesome death.

in a wild system ripped open by ravens could be considered a kinder death than dehydration from tangled in a bush

i like ravens but i dont always like the way they look at me ,a bit like undertakers and hangmen i spose .

Lovely pics, thanks.

We went fishing on Sunday. Caught 8 dogfish, all too small to eat, so had to release them. Rolling Eyes
Bodger

I'm sure that you know this but the lesser dog fish doesn't go that much bigger than a couple of pounds. Its the bull huss that go into double figures. Those small doggies are very tasty.
