It doesn't matter how you cook them. They'll still taste like garden hose Laughing
Bebo

Fry them with some chorizo

chilli butter and garlic is nice

they have a nice taste if from nice water so steamed is ok

a sharp knife will avoid any chewy issues

iirc the french may have good recipes

for texture a light cooking keeps em soft

or

steamed to de shell (use juice) cut into bits and stewed is tasty and has the texture of well stewed octopus or squid tentacle

pity they dont travel well Laughing

they are yummy ,did you use salt or a little harpoon hook thing?
Nature'sgrafter

I walked backwards and looked for them to move under the sand then put my finger in the hole to workout which direction they were going in and then sliced a large knife into the sand just beyond where I thought they were trapping them and then dug them out with my other hand. It worked great when I was quick enough brought home ten each (too many) but yummy.

i will try that ,i use strong brine but it needs salt and a squeeze bottle
they nearly always pop out
never been any good with the harpoon thing

garden fork is not very good i have got a few bait digging but they go down most times
Shane

I used to fry them quickly with some sliced sweet onions when we lived in Spain - very tasty. I always marvelled at the skill of the guys that used to harpoon them out of their burrows.

i looked very zen when i watched ,
