Recycling vinyl (LP's)

Is there anywhere? I have to throw away a great deal. You feel it's the kind of thing that could be melted down and reused for something but I haven't found anyone yet who does this. Anyone come across anything?

This is not just one or two that can be made into bowls or bookends but many bin bags full.

(I know I've asked this before but still worth asking again just in case.)

I take it they are no use as records. Some people still rate it as best.

kilos or tons?

i suspects tons might be easier to find an outlet for

Roof tiles.

tiles might work for a chook shed but i cant see building regs passing them on a house Laughing

Rig up some sort of launcher and use them for shotgun practice.

(The LPs, not NMG's zombies.)

We could do tons except transport costs would cancel out any benefit I suspect. I must get around to discussing this with some of the recycling companies.

Vinyl is back in fashion with the young and some of it fetches reasonable money these days. sean

My guess is that Cathryn is talking about stuff donated to her charity shop that's too knackered/terrible to sell on. Nick

That's what the charity shop down the road from yours is for. Wink Cathryn

This. Smile We have a year's backlog that no-one wants.

I've warned all the charities in a 20 mile radius of Hereford that someone will be wanting to offload quantities of questionable vinyl in the not too distant future.

The Macc lads are a talent yet to be properly recognised. NorthernMonkeyGirl

Is there a music themed/hipstery pub nearby? They could use the vinyl as "wallpaper". It's a thing they seem to do.
