The Royal Enfield Bullet may not be the world's fastest motorbike, it may not even be the most reliable, but it is certainly one of the best loved. The Bullet was first manufactured in Redditch, in the West Midlands, in 1933. By the 1960s, the motorbike, which had been chosen by the Indian Government for use by its army and police, faced upheaval when the production line was moved to Madras - a reflection of the Bullet's high esteem in India.
The Bullet continues to be produced today to its original British design in the city now officially called Chennai, with legions of fans both within and outside India.
