Yes, its not good at all.
It seems an oportune moment to give the Oxford University/ Met Office's "Climate prediction" model a plug.
Their work is so far ahead of MIT that its in a different league. And they need your computer to make it happen. Give 'em a chunk of free RAM and they run a model on your computer, then you uplaod the results to the server.
The best bit is that you get to run your very own climate model as a screen saver
Sometimes I just sit and watch storm clouds flowing over the north east atlantic, hitting Britain and curling over Ireland.
