Rodenator

Just ordered one of these little jobs - they're used around the workd for destroying the tunnels of burrowing pests (in the UK, you have to shoot, poison of ferret first, true to our habits of passing as many laws as possible on every occasion). They're handy little gadgets:

I'll do cut rates for other Downsizers who are being eaten out of house and home by bunnies.
Gervase

A neighbour hired one to deal with a mole infestation and came round to try it on our fields. It's certainly spectacular, great fun to use and makes satisfying bangs and clouds of earth, but it did little to deter the little sods. Against bunnies, though, it would probably be an excellent deterrent - and even more spectacular.

Are they filling the runs with a flamable gas?

A propane/oxygen mixture, which causes an implosion and collapses the tunnels.
happytechie

propane air mixture and no source of ignition is just a waste of a good opportunity to my mind. BBQ Bunny anyone?

fuel /oxy is fun unless one is in the radius
im not too keen on this as imho a clean kill is not assured nor likely
it does look effective but i thought using explosives against critters was a no no in the uk .maybe these have a loophole of law
it is not subtle and i recon gassing is a cleaner kill if folk need them gone rather than managed and eaten
i would vote for gassed or whatever to kill em off then blow up the burrows to slow recolonisation
i have been blown up ,i would not want my preys last moments to be a fatal version
messy

That's the way we do it here. Though on organic farms you can't use gas and have to ferret them out first. I've found some keen ferreting youths who are working on the burrows even now.

I am also advertising for a platoon of stoats.

Is it just me or does "rodenator" sound like some sort of half rat, half machine?

Cyberdyne Systems R-100 Sewer Infiltration Unit?

I believe the Americans are working on it.
