Routing chipboard

Can you use a router on chipboard, or will it gum it up? I don't need a clean finish as such, just a fillet removed to make it fit an hole.

Have to borrow a router so don't want to bugger it up!

you can but it will probably splinter the edges a bit

the router should be fine

high speed low pressure usually works best with composite boards and a jig can help quite a bit

It's an underside edge that just needs to be removed. It'll be bolted down and not seen, so the wood doesn't matter.

Thanks.

Kitchen fitters do it all the time.

Worst bumper sticker, ever.

(But thanks)

That's the worst thanks you can give RichardW-but very funny!, bet the router 'b's' up for that!

I ended up using a chisel and a mallet. Couldn't easily find a router, and just wanted the job done.
