Save Powys schools!Powys County Council want to save the school in Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa. It's a small school, with few pupils, but there's nothgin comparable within many miles. If it closes the kids will be bussed miles to another school, which none of the parents want. It's a Welsh medium school in a strongly Welsh-speaking area: we all feel we really need it to stay opne.
There's a petition to the National Assembly. Please sign it.

Thankyou.

Done.
The regional council are always trying to close rural schools round here. So far we have managed to stop them.
Their other ploy, apart from the school roll numbers game, is to let the fabric of the building decline until it is deemed too expensive to maintain or repair.
