Saying helloHello! Am I doing this right? I think I'm introducing myself but as i'm rubbish with technology I'm not really sure if I'm in the right bit!
I'm a textile designer/maker living in Manchester.I source my raw materials locally in the North West buying fleeces direct from farms in Lancashire & also using recycled & reclaimed fibres.I handspin, knit & weave & also produce millspun Lancashire Farm Wool.I'm very keen on using local, organic or chemical-free produce & animal welfare is important to me.Iwould like to move back to rural Lancashire , where my family originates from , & find some studio space where I can set up my floor loom.At present though I'm caring for my Mum who has advanced dementia so many plans are on hold .

Hello there from West Wales
If you need some raw wool for your projects, do let us know. We have a smallholding and keep (amongst other things) sheep - some Welsh mules and some pure bred Lleyns.

Hello from sunny France
My Dad had dementia for a number of years before he died, & I remember the difficulties Mum had being his main carer... not easy at the best of times

thank you for your welcome messagesThank you for making me feel so welcome! I'm finding my way around the site, finding loads of interesting stuff -------- is this site addictive by the way?
I think I will find lots of kindred spirits definitely but I feel a bit daunted as you all seem to have such a vast amount of knowledge & many are living the life I would like so I'm envious as well!

But we're all constantly asking wach other for advice! And I'm envious of people with more land/pigs/goats/woodland than me...

Hi, welcome...textile designer/maker ? I don't even knit and am so impressed by everyone on here who spins and knits and sews...and peoples knowledge of livestock is amazing but all are generous in sharing their experiences. It's good for a laugh as well, someone will always make you smile on days when you feel down....oh and there are some quite heated discussions.
Over all though is the kindness. Just my view as someone fairly new to the site

There are the odd reheated ones too- beware of those, make sure they reach boiling point for a couple of minutes or you may end up with with an upset stomach.
