They have a big breeding programme going at Plymouth Aquarium. Very cool to see all the tiny ones.

Seahorses are wonderful. Such harmless little things, but beautiful. I wish I had some.

Did you know it's the male seahorse who gets pregnant?
In one language the word for seahorse literally translates as "sea knight" (as in the chess piece). Can't remember which language but I think it was a Germanic one.

It's a pity that seahorses weren't found in Brixham harbour which is about 50m away from my cottage (South Devon coast). There's a lot of development going on in Brixham at the moment, the biggest one being the expansion of the Fish Quay for the commercial fishing industry.
