Should I worry?I have a heifer thats due in about 11 days. I noticed about a week ago that she seemed to be bagging up. But oddly only 3 of the 4 teats seemed to be filling up. After a few days I suspected that she was helping herself. Well today I caught her at it. Should I worry & more importantly should I intervien & fit one of those spiky things?

I'm amazed that such a heavily in-calf heifer can reach round to suckle herself 
Do you think perhaps she might stop when she calves and the calf is sucking her?

I'd go with the spikey thing, depending on the which one you get, they seem very effective (the one I bought was a Cox's one piece flexible design- quite novel really).

Only on one side the other is too bloated.
Thats what I was hoping. Not looking forward to fitting a spiky to a heifer thats not used to being touched in that way. Would be easyer on an older cow.
