Smoking TomTom

My TomTom has gone up in smoke! I went to use it the other day, but it's internal battery was almost flat. I plugged it in the cars power supply and the thing just switched off. Had a play with the power button for a few moments to coax it back into life when I saw smoke pouring out of the back so took it off power quicker than quick is quick.

This is the second electronic device that's done this to me recently. The first was a tad more violent when a mobile phone charger exploded on my desk.

Pee'd off. Mad

Your phone wasn't one of the ones that has a battery recall out on it? Or was it the just the charger and not the batter that exploded? I must admit I'm much less keen to charge things overnight due to the chance of things exploding.

No, it was a charger fault. It was the charger which exploded. It had only been a few minutes.

But neither of their attempts have succeeded as of yet. I'd beware, they'll probably try a different tact next.
