SNOW

It's here, as of this morning!

Not 'here' here but where I do my bus run there were cars with six inches of settled snow on them. About 20k into the Massif Central from here but in early December that is rather early in our experience.

We had a long hot summer but batten down the hatches I reckon as we are in for a long winter ... Wink

We've had a sprinkling, further up the mountain than where we are, but it's due to warm up again after the weekend..... fingers crossed

That looks lovely Simon. We have a hard frost on this side of the valley but I can see grren fields and sun on the other side. The Met reckon the chances of a white Christmas are too close to call.

Safe driving Simon, have a good trip.

Via Dover?

Check the roads in Kent, first, very heavy snow there ( by wussy UK standards) and more on its way.

Thanks, setting off in half an hour, should be daylight in an hour or two. Thanks for the tips. Will traverse Kent slowly.

Safe journey Penny!

Hurrray we have a rock hard frost and the mud is all gone, bliss... and the mountains look fabulous, in every sense of the world. We have a range to the West that looks just like the illustrations of the Misty Mountains!
Barefoot Andrew

No snow here but a fairly serious frost also. Having said that the field opposite doesn't look as dramatically white as it did earlier.

VERY cold here and a bit of snow overnight. A few large flakes falling on and off but not enough for skiing

20cm of snow here this morning.

Blue Sky

Hey Boisdevie, just the man.

Do you know of a campsite somewhere near Boulogne that is open all year? We don't need the facilities other than to hook up the leccie as it was really cold on the way up and we need the heater on. Cheers.

'Sok Penny! We made it back for Christmas Eve and the roads are all clear to here. I doubt you will get worse weather further South so your boxing day journey should be a smooth one.

Safe trip.

Advance warning!

There don't appear to be any. And it is plipping cold out at this time of year so if you happen to be travelling through France I recommend lots of covers and hot water bottles. Wink

No snow here. It's all gone now and it's almost tropical at present. You should be good for the ride home. Have a safe trip.
