So just how long does ground take to dry out?

'cos I thought it was my only opportunity to get some work done in the garden this week as it seemed dry(ish) as I walked across the grass but as soon as I started doing anything and broke the surface it was a quagmire underneath.

That depends on so many factors that I'm not even going to start to list them Laughing

i honestly don't think that our land has dried out all this year

I thought ours was drying out nicely today, until I realised the standing water is still there, you just can't see it for the growth Laughing

Must have dried out a bit though- there was a combine working next door today, hope it keeps up so we can get our bales out of the field.

We finally managed to cut our hay on Saturday... pity the forecast has changed since - its been gloomy and damp today and it doesnt now look like improving before Thursday.... Evil or Very Mad

But at least the stuff is cut at long last.....

It will dry out about 10 mins before the next down pour is due.

I've got a field that hasn't been topped in two years because I can't get on it..... and I've got no hay, again. Last year it was floods, this year, just plain rain.... Sad
