so where can I buy Jerusalem Artichoke tubers from?Thompson and Morgan don't do them and have never seen them in the local garden centres.
Do they grow well from seed or are tubers better?

If it's for growing next year then I'm sure someone will have some to spare. If you can't get hold of any locally I could post you some after I harvest ours.

Same here, I'm sure we'll have some spare as well.

You don't need to plant them until next Feb or March, so there's plenty of time yet.
(And yes, I'm bound to have some spare).

PM me some time from, say, November or December. I've got Fuseau and Gerard, and I'm sure to have some to spare. I think that 'chokes from my plot must have propagated to dozens of members here by now.

Only see this now, Mrs F. I have some and will surely share with you.
What I want to know is what do I do with the hundreds I've dug up today.
Having dug them up, it's probably too late to ask, but when is the correct time to harvest?
Any good ideas for cooking?

I reckon November onwards for harvest, but OK now, if not yet quite full size. Dig up as you need them (they will be fine left in the ground over winter), and lift what's left in Feb/Mar.
For what to do with them, you could do a search for 'jerusalem artichokes' specifically in the Recipes, preserving, homebrew section/forum - I definitely remember that there have been previous threads about this.

Didn't Cab become an international JA tuber merchant courtesy of ebay a while ago?

I did, although only within our national borders.
Haven't had any 'chokes out yet, but when I do I'll either offer some spare on ebay (if I can be bothered) or here for swap, if as usual I have a good harvest.
