So who'll be watching FlashFoward tonight?

9pm, five.

Tempted to give it a whirl myself, but I do hope it's not going to be another of those tedious, drawn out shows where nothing actually happens. Heroes for example was utter rubbish IMHO...

going to try it but will have to record cos of waking the dead.. Very Happy
Treacodactyl

I've already seen it next year...

(Actually I expect it'll just be like Lost and Heroes and just go on and on, so I'll not bother).

The book it is based on it interesting so I will be giving it a try or at least my hd recorder will be

I will be surprised if five don't put this up on their equivalent but you never can tell
Barefoot Andrew

Just to rule out any doubt, Waking the dead is on iPlayer Wink

I'll be watching it - I like those sorts of series - Mind you I've still got 1/2 the last series of Lost to watch yet

However lately I've been watching True Blood - Utter filth in parts but very highly recommended if you like Vampires at all - It makes the Vampires in Twilight look like the self-obsessed maudling teenagers that they are - its already on FX but is starting on Channel 4 on Wednesday 7th October at 10pm

True Blood is great trashy TV, well written to (its by Alan Ball the same man who did 6 feet under). The second series is even better than the first

If you want a quick and brainless read I would recommend the Charlaine Harris novels the TV series is based on as well (It has thoroughly diverged from a lot of the plot now though)

bum. forgot to record flashforward. Sad

anyone watch it? was it any good?

true blood sounds our sort of thing....*chuckles evilly* Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
Barefoot Andrew

Not too bad, but I still can't help thinking it might be a slow developer...

We shall see. Certainly worthwhile of a second viewing.

So... what do we think thus far?

The jury is still out.

Will it be another "lost" or "hero's" & blather on for weeks,or will it turn out to be a "24" & keep you on the edge of your seat?
jocorless

I'm enjoying it so far - Got all the family riverted which is quite an achievement - Only Heroes has done that lately

True Blood starts tonight 10pm Channel 4 - Definitely NOT for under 18's but utterly brilliant however be warned that it doesn't really get going until episode 4 onwards however the first 4 episodes are needed to set up the story

Hmmmmm - well I watched the first 5 mins of episode 1 then fell asleep because it seemed dull, OH watched it all and said he wasn't sure.

Watched 3/4 of episode 2 (then fell asleep - well it is an hour later here in France and I'm an early bird!) and it seemed quite interesting (after being filled in by OH as to what went on before). Now he's told me what happened in the bit I missed in ep. 2 it sounds like it is all getting rather exciting.

Yet I really don't want to have to 'get into' something that runs for around 25 episodes, which is on at a time when I fall asleep anyway..... so I'm still not sure. Confused

I had a vision of watching a television program about 5 years from now, still hoping that eventually we'd find out what the hell is going on, and wondering why I didn't learn after Lost. Oh, and thinking that Feinnes should stop using the puppy dog look, he's too old for it.
Barefoot Andrew

It is looking like all of the above is worthy criticism...

Now you mention it, no ..... which means I'll be dead within 6 months! Laughing
Barefoot Andrew

Shocked Wink

Maybe six months is what it'll take for any significant plot developments to happen...

Hmm, wanesville. Why does US TV have to make these silly 20+ part series, when a tight drama run over 6 or 8 parts is a much better idea...?

Just watched the first part of the American version of Life on Mars. I'll be amazed if that works over so many episodes, but I'll give it a chance.
