I have no idea what this is as found it on my lunch while at work, so cant check any of my books. Its pretty, if not probably deadly little thing.
Hope you dont mind me hijacking the thread, but its a recent mushroom pic so thought it would be ok not to start a new one.

Scleroderma citrinum (or is it citrina? one or the other spellling anyway). Common earth ball. Inedible, a bit poisonous.

Thanks Cab. I really should make more of an effort to take pictures when I'm out and about. I am a tad disorganised - I tend to forget my camera or, when I do take it out, the dam thing isn't charged.
