Speckled Sussex

I know a few of you breed Speckled Sussex and was wondering if you could help me on their colouring /breed standards, as I hatched two earlier this year who look very different and would like to know which, if either is closest to the mark.
They are now 24 weeks.

Thank you

Too much white ?

I know zip all about the breed but the second one is much prettier... Too much white on the first

Woodburner - thanks . Top one looks way off, the bottom closer but not good. It's not important, I'm going to use them for breeding for meat birds, just for us. Breed standards interest me though, good to know what you should be aiming for.

Just seen last two posts thanks Tavascarow I'll take a look.

BMS - I agree but the first has a lovely sparky character Smile

Looks don't matter once they're in the pot, but personality can make you think twice Wink

Laughing ahh but she may be the mum of the babies for the pot...still undecided.

Just read your blog post so it all makes sense now!

Try hatching eggs from both and see which one breeds the chicks with the best carcass?

Think thats the plan...it's only for us, so just interest more than anything. The bottom hen was very slow to develop ( I was convinced it was a cockerel for a while ) but is turning into a lovely solid bird. The top one quick to feather up but has now slowed down in growth.
