I seem to recall they have been used for student accommodation somewhere in Europe recently and as a Love Hotel in Japan....cab't recall the source though. Industrial Pre-fab?....could become the curse of the next decade...

I don't see why pre-fab has to be nasty - I'm sure i've seen scandinavian ikea-style flatpack housing and it was really nice - small but homely  modern building housing-estate type stuff seems to be nasty prefab anyway but with a pricetag whic belies that fact...

Not my cup of tea, but they are becoming more popular for accommodation, and a good example of recycling. There's a thread on their use on the Green Building forum.
