Surviving Elms in GloucestershireIf anyone who lives in Gloucestershire is interested it sounds like there are two old surviving Elms that may have early stage Dutch Elm, but are still savable if the right people act soon.

Hope they save them. I was lucky to move from Cambridgeshire to Brighton about the time elms I grew up with started to be lost, so I've always had elms around.
I still feel sad though that the "big tree" of our childhood which was a focal point for many outdoor hours has long gone. Elms always seem such friendly trees to me - probably due to that childhood tree we played on and around. It was a significant moment when you grew tall enough to climb the big tree for the first time!
