T&M halfway decent seed offershttp://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/list/disease-resistant
Disease resistant seeds half price (it said you could share the offer with friends )
Broccoli, carrot, parsnip, tomato, courgette. All F1s but then, the disease resistance may be useful to cut down/out any pesticides if you are used to using them. I've had problems with some T&M perennial seed but veg seed is better.
Alan Roman's is cheaper still though, and less packaging

Thanks for that, I got a free packet of seeds and some cheap strawberries too, delivery is very reasonable too.

Another offer now, all veg seeds half price, which even allowing for not great germination might be a way of topping up salads and summer/winter veg. Beware, the mulipacks are not half price...but your most expensive packet is free.

No, not exactly
His name is Romans, which sounds odd, so it's http://www.alanromans.com - all packets are 50p but in lovely Downsizer style, they are just the foil packs you normally get inside the pretty envelope. So you need to look up growing instructions elsewhere, but you probably have a million and eight books to tell you what you need to know, not to mention the internet.
The range is basic - no fancy varieties - but fantastic for things you need a lot of like rocket and radish, and for anything that you just grow basic varieties of, and they do flowers too. Service and germination as good as any and better than most, I definitely recommend them.

Wow! As you say, the range is limited, but the price is certainly right. I'll definitely book that site for next year.

If anyone's in Hampshire/Dorset, there's a small chain of sort of general stores called In Excess; there's one in Christchurch, and one near Salisbury and a few others. Anyhow, they sell discontinued/bankrupt/excess stock, and that includes gardening stuff. I bought boxes of grass seed in there for a quid, and they currently have veg and herb seeds for 25p a packet (still in date, no rubbish - T&M, Unwins, Mr Fothergill's etc.) They sell tools in there too, including what I'd call a 'navvy' shovel; i.e a large spade with a pointed, not blunt end, which is excellent for digging, even in heavy clay.

In excess is a great shop. I always went there on my way to the supermarket. Too many bargains to remember.

Latest is an asparagus crown lucky dip - their choice of four varieties, of which you get 5 crowns of one variety, for £5, which is reasonable and they are interesting varieties. Good for a small patch:

Hmm postage is steep though - £4.99 or £2.99 over a certain level - there are extra offers with free seeds and potatoes though.

And another one, with Grow Your Own magazine:
http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/offers/index.php
£1.49 for:
Lime Basil (highly recommended)
Nice n Spicy leaf mix (better than it sounds)
Coriander
plus labels
Not bad at all, I would be tempted myself only I currently have enough seeds to solve the nutritional problems of approximately three continents.
