They are rather pretty.

Are you specialising in Penguin Coloured Poultry, then, Bodger? It would be a very snazzy website, all done in black and white Smile

Well I have got the Gloucester Old Spot Pigs and I'm finding it almost impossible to hatch any Welsummers. Rolling Eyes

Because of the thick shells?
Bodger

I've been struggling to hatch them since I first had them which is for about three years now. Poor fertility to start with, as in eggs not starting, death half way through incubation and then dead in shell.
I can hatch Light Sussex and now my Anconas all day long but not the Welsummers.
Take this latest hatch for instance. I started with 12 Welsummers and 12 Anconas. At the first candling, 8 of the W eggs were clear and 3 of the a were also clear. At the moment, I have 6 of the A chicks, with others hatching but not so much as a sign of any of the W's wanting to join the world.
This has been happening with both eggs produced here at home and with those bought in from a way. Crying or Very sad
