The eyes, the eyes...

More cool pics from the Beeb.
Chez

Good lord. That's beautiful. I thought it was going to be a picture of The Eye Of Sauron when I clicked, though, for some reason.
ksia

That first one is amazing.
sean

It is absolutely amazing. Though not very LOTRish.

Love the chimp.

I did some illustration work for the Welsh Mountain Zoo years ago, when they opened their special 'ChimpWorld' area (sounds dreadful but it was actually pretty good, with an emphasis on education not entertainment) and I was lucky enough to spend some time with a couple of the young chimps to do some sketching ... it was an amazing, humbling, experience.

They were everything I expected them to be x 100.
Intelligent, inquisitive, gentle, wary, and at times they ganged up on me like two naughty children.

When they look at you with those incredible brown eyes, it's impossible not to be smitten.

... and they're ticklish, the chimps, not their eyes.

Great photos! The caption with the one of the panther chameleon cracked me up, though. Sounds like an ad in the personals section: "Loves sunbathing and enjoys cockroaches" I suspect he dislikes insincere people and halitosis, too!

Are the parrots Saatchi and Saatchi?

Not only artists have an eye for eyes

Would that be the red headed food monster by any chance? Laughing

Yes - beautiful eyes!

Joan Baker the head of foundation at Cardiff College of Art in the 70's told me three years ago- if people come up to her and she can't work out who they are, as they have changed so much since being a student, she just looks at their eyes...they don't change!!

Got her name wrong- ed to correct- should have remembered, I even gave her a cutting of the geranium..

That very Monster. Wink

Still not sure about eye colour, though. When is the colour stable?

To gz: how closely must one look into eyes to remember them forever? Sounds a bit scary: I'm going to a school reunion soon and will cetainly not look into the eyes of my old mates. Shocked
gz

As she said, they are the windows of the soul...and if you just see the eyes, it works Smile

I like the Red Headed Food Monster Very Happy

Don't encourage me Laughing Laughing

I went to a school reunion a few years ago and there were several people whom I didn't even recognise Shocked

I spent quite some time chatting to one fella' who obviosuly recognised me but when I eventually got away, I had to ask a close friend who he was. When she told me all I could say was "Never, NOOOO ..." - I'd half thought he was someone entirely different Smile

Some people had barely changed (it was a 25 year reunion) but others were unrecognisable!

I'm not going to tell what year we are celebrating, but we look at considerably more than 25 years. Confused Confused

I have asked the organizers to put up name tags. They refused. Told me that they have name plates at the tables. And they asked if I could handle the class drunkard. His eyes I will recognize: they were then and are still pickled in alcohol Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Mine change colour (apparently) depending on the mood I'm in from hazel to grey.

Once I was told that my eyes went black. Not many people get close enough to survive that look Evil or Very Mad

We all have a ground colour, which may vary a bit with the mood. Hazel to grey sounds rather unusual Laughing Laughing

Jamanda

Well done Shaun. Just don't buy any more, then you can't smoke them.
BethinPA

If you pick it up again, we'll have to call you Shaun of the Dead. Let that be a warning!

(And good luck!)
