Always a good start - I am hiding on here rather than getting on with my mega list Embarassed
Chez

I am having coffee and dreaming of sardines.
sally_in_wales

Ok you've shamed me into getting dressed too. Was good and threw out a load of undies due for retirement whilst I was at it, so I'm counting that as a job done.

I really really just want to curl up on the sofa and knit, drink tea and feel mildly sniffly today. not really at all enthused by my to do list

and the left shift button has died on my laptop, so my typing is going to get even worse until I remember that there is one on the right hand side Embarassed
Cathryn

Lists.

Only here because I have already had phonecalls and got several things organised this morning and exciting ones to do with work. Feeling a good sense of achievement already. Smile

Next, deal with mild but persistent headache before putting back on filthy work clothes from yesterday and finish nailing down wire to old stone outhouse and soon to be new broody chicken home. Done.

See if I can persuade cockerel down from his bedroom to enjoy his new home. Think I will probably pass this one over to the several children I am "looking after" today. (More of a damage limitiation thing than a looking after thing.) He's gone back to bed, who can blame him, weather is vile.

Darn, get lunch out of freezer, don't make bread but make biscuits for when Lottie delivers hen (and a couple of fertile eggs Embarassed ) later on. Forgot to do this so instead distract children with chocolate topped doughnuts, while boston baked beans slowly thaws in oven, no complaints so far. Wink Lottie don't rush, serious delay caused by forgotton optician's appointment and definite need to answer rather nice email.
Hen arrived, thank you so much you two. Lottie's ability to count is marginally better than other downsizers brandishing eggs, but only marginally... Smile

Do not forget to clean house for downsizer visitation on Wednesday. hmm...raining, bored children, some chaos.

My lists aren't very tidy are they. Must do better.
Fee

I'm supposed to be back working today, only got back last night, but Happytechie is off until Wednesday, and my damn father is arriving tomorrow until friday (his first EVER visit to me since living at home as a teenager), so I can't see much work work getting done Rolling Eyes Fortunately he's bringing two of my younger sisters with him, aged 11 and 13.

So, before tomorrow I need to:

- Do something about the spare mattress in the spare room
- Clean the stair/landing carpet (it's getting embarrassing now, and that's saying something)
- Wash and hang out clothes from week away
- Try and make some room on the dining room table for eating dinners on (I'm sure they won't mind a barrel of beer as a centrepiece Laughing)
- Find a knitting pattern to make some sort of very easy toy for my niece with my newly acquired angora wool (from Mrs Easter's wabbits on Anglesey)
- Decide what I'm cooking while they're here and buy all ingredients (eldest of two sisters is a veggie)
- Stop catching up on DS and get on with the list : failed
- Send invoices for work carried out while on holiday : done
- Do at least some work work
mochyn

Well.

The old chap's just tidied and hoovered the parlour and cleaned the bathroom. He's brilliant. It's because an old friend of his from Uni is arriving later.

I'm processing tomatoes and there will be more of that to do this week.

Mochyn - I was wondering about bees. My Ma is here this week; as you know, she is our bee-guru. Shall I see how she feels about coming over with Arvo one day and whizzing through them all? I think I'm pretty much out of the game for a bit now, whether or not I can get the suit to do up notwithstanding ... Confused
mochyn

Now, there's a plan.

Any day is good with me except Friday.

ANd there can be cake...
Chez

I will enquire upon her arrival. She is currently just north of Hereford. It's out of The Shire, you know Smile.

2. Finish something from my WIP list - two cloth bags finished, photographed and blogged

5. Meet with friends to do creative things and chat

You can bring her here, Andrew. As long as she can shut her eyes to domestic sluttery.

What sort of cake shall I make? That's next on the list.

Haven't done much this morning apart from wash my hair and reply to emails. I'm feeling all jittery and anxious (due to barmy menopausal hormones, I think) and can't settle to anything... It will pass (and quicker if I take some diazepam), but in the meantime I'm incapable of deciding WHAT to do, let alone concentrating enough to actually do it!!

Oh well, looks like it's lunchtime, so I'll go and gaze into the fridge for a while and see if I can decide what to eat... Laughing

I'm off to do 5. on the list... and to foist a bit more of my clutter on other people Very Happy .
lottie

The only things I really have to do urgently this week are lift the bulk of the potatoes and check the bees---and it just pours and pours---actually spent 3 hrs digging in the rain yesterday and ended up soaked and with 2" of mud on the bottom of my boots, the slugs will win if they're not up soon---which in the first year ever I've had no blight would be very irritating Sad
Cathryn

Really is chucking it down isn't it which means I am going to get wet putting up a tarpaulin to protect broody hen from some of the weather.
lottie

Torrential here---O.H. has gone outside in his waterproof suit but I haven't lost enough weight to get back in mine yet Wink
marigold

We've had a bit of sun here this morning which is cheering, but the best thing is that the ******* wind has dropped to a gentle breeze Very Happy
