Have a lovely day.
I have a weekend of this ahead and am hoping that I will have to consider how to avoid sunstroke. It's only rained once this morning.

Our first local show is next Saturday so between now and then I'll be mostly preparing stuff for that.
Regardless of the weather.
Have fun at Burwarton, Jules!

Ruby is entering the lunchtime roll competition (yes I am sure it is not that much fun but it has irretrievably translated itself into that in my head ). She wants to fill it with foraged stuff. Mussel sandwich anyone?

Nothing like a nice roll at lunchtime to set you up for the afternoon.

I am finishing off odd bits of felt.

I have just taught two nieces how to make rag rug flowers, one of them how to cook pastry and one of them how to make a quiche. My daughter of course is being contrary and has insisted on sewing.
Now to find somewhere for them to eat the quiche as there is certainly no table space free.
(Is it going home time yet? Can I go back to work? I'm knackered.)
Are you going away next week or something Frewen? Or is it just a no bake week?

Mmmmm quiche - might have to do one of those too.
I'm at summer school next week and will be staying with WW
I quite fancy rag rug flowers as well

I'm finishing off your heart but there have been quite a few interruptions. Haven't a clue what you'll use it for. Us artistes, no sense of the practical.
I could now go and wash fleece as it's stopped raining. Or strim the jungle. What fun!
Summer school? One long fibre weekend? Sounds rather good.

Any pics of the rag rug flowers? How are they made?

Are you sure? You'll never throw anything away again! (Don't any fabric, save up or me!)
Pink gingham flower, 11 year old, fleece prodded star, 10 year old and pink flower 14 year old. Impressive huh?
Two have now moved onto salt dough and somewhere along the way we have collected an extra childand those two have gone off on their bikes down to the river.
And it's absolutely chucking it down. Muddy children, flour covered kitchen.

I slept in till nearly nine, and spent most of the day sitting in bed [in clean bedding] reading, with pots of tea.
Just had a bath and washed my hair (don't seem to have had time for weeks), and put on clean non-scruffy clothes.
A brief holiday after weeks of hard graft.

Back and the show was fab! Its the first time that we get to catch up with all our neighbours and friends all year. Everyone chews the cud about al things farming, deals are done - mostly bartered and then its back to work until after harvest.
It was especially nice to see pigs at the show this year, I can't remember when there was a pig class last but it was sad to see that the goat classes have shrunk to two breeds and only a few competitors in each class.
The sight of the horses and carriages in the show ring brings a smile to my face every year and the day ends with hysterical terrier racing, fab!
