Topic for laydeez only. Men keep out or else!!!Does anyone here use washable sanitary towels? Or one of those moon cups? Although I am hopefully pre menopausal at my age (51 in March) I would be interested in getting away from disposables and using something more environmentally friendly as well as more efficient

As the (male) person who asked Nettie to do an article on the Mooncup and was very pleased to see Nora doing one on homemade sanitary towels I recommend you to check these out:

Fenwoman, you'll find our boys here are quite used to us discussing these matters! Scarily well read on the topic too last time we had this discussion I think.

There's a really long thread somewhere about our Mooncup experiences, I'll see if I can find the link for you

Thanks for the links I am going to read them and have a go at making.
Men cannot do a proper recommendation of course
I'll just be glad when the men-o-pause happens.

Pleased to report that I am at last getting the hang of the mooncup (found it in the quilting basket eventually!) You do need a sense of humour and perserverance I fear! Going to get the sewing machine out to do a few panty liners this week too.

I'm definately going to make some washable towels before next months 'curse'. I do laundry for pleasure so might as well. Wish I'd done it years ago.
Incdentally on topic has anyone been to
http://www.mum.org/?
Its the museum of menstruation website. Bloody fascinating it is. I spent 3 hours the other day rivetted. Well worth a browse.

I've come to the conclusion that you lot are potty. I've just finished reading the mooncup thread and ended up snorting tea out through my nostrils several times at some of the posts. I'm going to try a mooncup though. Thanks for all the help guys and gals.
