trouble redecorating after double-glazingI had double glazing fitted 4 or 5 years ago, very pleased with the general result, much warmer house, etc.
BUT
now I am doing some redecorating, and the silicone seal they use round the windows will not take paint of any kind! It looks disgusting and unprofessional in my "office", which is painted dark blue.
The whole house is papered with wood-chip, great effect in a cottage with not-quite-straight walls. I was wondering whether sticking masking tape over the silicone and then painting over, or would it not stick permanently? Or tearing strips of wood-chip and sticking them in place with something suitable?
Has anyone else had this problem, or knows how to solve it??
