It went ape and was taking up over half the cpu of the machine, couldn't un-install it, and the 'fix' they provided made it far worse. It's supposed to keep 'malware' out but it was by far the most malicious bit of software I've ever fallen victim to.

thanks for that advice. my bank website repeatedly suggests installing it, but i don't know anything about it so decided not to. would not know what to do if it messed things up for me.
