Try using Firefox if you can't read threads

It seems to only affect IE?
Bulgarianlily

Re:Opera has problem too

no I am using Opera
Nick

Course, if you're having problems seeing threads, you may not be able to read the above. Smile
Jamanda

Which is why I put the suggestion in the title Nick dear.
gil

I couldn't read posts in either IE or BT's browser

Aha!

See, I can see everything, in FF, IE and Opera. And on my phone. I think our plan to remove some of the more difficult members has begun.
sean

BT's browser's just a branded version of IE though I think.
sally_in_wales

firefox here and the forum has still scrambled a few times this morning, always comes back ok with a refresh though

HA! I read that! (by using the quote button) We will not be moved....
jema

There are problems in firefox as well. It is being worked on.

Saturday is the quietest day on the forum, so hence changes were introduced today.
sean

Of course now it's the busiest day because everyone's posting to try and find out why you've broken it. Wink
mousjoos

I can see what people are posting now, but dont understand a f***ing word of it
Rob R

Uh oh, budge over River Cottage Forum... Laughing
mihto

Now the whole way Downsizer presents itself has been changed Question

Everything is blue!

Will we go back to the old whatever-it-is-called-in-English web or must we get used to the new presentation?

I use firefox. No problem, but the page looks WEIRD Mad
jema

Don't panic, this is temporary.
Gervase

Seems to work OK in Safari, Firefox, Camino and Opera. I don't have IE, so that worry is removed!

Relax. There's technical issues. They will be resolved and real DS will return.

Meantime, please enjoy the holding image.

Chez

Ugh, Nick, you could have posted a warning. My eyes are stinging.
Cathryn

Gosh thanks Nick.

I just got a blank screen when I tried to open the livestock part of the forum. I use firefox. Don't know if you still need this info Jema.

I hate it when people write off the whole of a talented actor/singer/talent spotter's work, just because he hasn't done any Sci-fi.
Chez

I rather think that Knight Rider is the ultimate in sci-fi, isn't it? I'm sure that the writers sat down and thought "Gosh, how will the juxtaposition of a sentient car in relation to our real-world, non-sentient cars illustrate the frailties of mankind". Didn't they? And also, of course, "If we dress the Hoff in these particular eye-watering undercrakers, Germans across the world with adore his music".

Shocked
Dani

Chrome is fine.

so whats happening? site maintainence?
sean

The site's not rendering properly for some people. Jema has taken it back to a basic template so the he can try to see where the problem lies.
Dani

jema is a guy?
gil

yep

Makes you realise how wonderfully user-friendly DS is when you get faced with thts blue basic version - Good Luck Jema with sorting out the problems and may we see our lovely DS back very soon. Would occasion6 or Beer help?

It is totally doing me head in Sad

In the office I have been managing to repeat the issue, and it seems down to some issues with the javascript in the page headers, partially the ethical junction bits.

But whilst I can make things work in the office, the same changes don't seem to work on the server itself. But I can't really leave it totally fubar for long on the live server as people will get even more peed off.

It has to be something obvious I'm missing.
Cathryn

If by people you mean us members then I personally am not peed off. You do this for Downsizer, for us all and I am grateful to you for it. Thank you very much. I wish I could help and I wish you didn't have to do this on a Saturday evening. Can BA help at all or anyone else?
sally_in_wales

leave it like this for an hour or so Jema, go and have a big cup of tea, eat some dinner, take a few deep breaths and I bet you'll see whatever it is that is causing the problem when you come back after a short break.

This version functions, it could be far worse Very Happy
Bulgarianlily

not peed off at all but strangely bereft when it doesn't work. What sad gits that makes us Very Happy But it makes us appreciate it all the more when it does work. Keep trying when needed and we will keep reporting if it is working, assuming that helps?
Gervase

Me neither - not remotely pee'd off. So it looks a bit different, but it's not the end of the world. Don't overstress yourself!
mihto

I seem to be thrown off all the time and need to re-register. Does this info help?

We all feel for you, Jema. What a lousy way to have a nice Saturday going BUM Crying or Very sad
Penny

ooohhhhh Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Brownbear

It's all working again. Three cheers for Microsoft!

coat, hat, taxi etc please.
Rob R

I was about to say my brain is no longer being mashed by the site, but the sight of the Hoff is enough to send my synapses into spasm again Confused
woodsprite

No can see anything again. Sad
gil

I've had to go back to Firefox again, cos IE has blank posts. FF looks horrid on my machine.
Effie

I've got blank on IE and Firefox now. Hope this isn't causing a huge headache and spoiling your Saturday night utterly Jema Sad
