Unusual forage...

Just took the dog for a walk and came home with a rucksack full of apples and one of these...
Cathryn

You have just inspired me. Shelter for the dogs over winter in our leaky glasshouse.

What is it by the way? Smile

It's one of those pop-up tents. Someone had left it on the commons.

I hope they weren't just having a pee and came back to find it gone!
sean

It was upside down and not pegged, so it seems unlikely. Probably kids on the lash last night at a guess.
sally_in_wales

so, does Boy Wonder know he's being evicted to a tent in the garden yet? Laughing
Jamanda

Our thought was that Ben could use it Laughing If we'd left it were it was it would have been shredded by the hawthorn bush it was caught up in by now.

Having taken the two of us to decipher the instructions on to put it down I can see why someone with a hangover might have abandoned it Laughing
lottie

How could you be sure no-one was coming back for it?---just a question Confused
sean

Can't be sure. But it's illegal to camp on the commons and it was stuck in a tree. I think of it as a really big piece of litter.
lottie

Sorry to be a sanctimonious PITB but if you weren't sure I don't think you should have taken it--- the law wouldn't call it forage.

Is that a by-law or are all commons covered by the same legislation?

Good find BTW thumbright it's not often you can forage food and shelter Laughing
Jamanda

It's a bye law, which it is part of my responsibilities to uphold.
When we actually did have someone camping there last year, we gave them a little while ( about 2 weeks) then pinned a polite notice on the tent, which worked.
Rob R

Two weeks sounds like a long while to me Surprised
Nick

To break by-laws, or to camp?
Rob R

Both
Nick

Agreed.
