Urban farm investors?

Thought this was a potential business idea for those wanting to buy or expand their smallholdings.

Super idea - if you packaged it up smartly, then you might do really well with it. My FIL did something similar with a vineyard, and I know you can do it with olive trees. I think with the vineyard there was a trip included. You could market it at families and do some kind of party weekend with lots of cute little critters around in May and a Christmas Fayre or summat.

That's a bit like charging people £1 a bag to feed your animals. Ace idea Laughing

It always astounds me when people fall for that Laughing

This is a little different though - it's working to grow your own food, on a farm that you would partially own - not so much voluntary work as working for your self. It's a nice idea - people could get a better idea of where their food comes from with out the commitment needed to run an allotment or smallholding themselves, and the farmer would get some investment revenue when the shares were bought.

I did meet somebody doing that at my bank's AGM. They were speaking on how they had essentially turned their farm into a co-operative of sorts.

They had a lot of support from their local community. Thus it also had the added bonus of ensuring local jobs and money stayed local rather than going out to Tesco or some supermarket.

got from a list of local producers in my area, was looking for Real Ale Microbrewery, in my local area and this list has everything from Bakers through to Traditional Musicians such as Harpists.

I want to see what goes on in a Traditional Microbrewery.

Similiar in the fact that the guy is being paid for people to work on his farm and can probably get a lot of his labour intensive work done quite easily. Both clever and a good way of making an extra income i guess.
