Actually I have found quite a lot of ends of vodka bottles. I can probably make a fair amount with what I have.
Then add spices and peel to the ends of whisky I've found.
There's quite a lot of ancient sloe gin that needed testing as well.

It's really nice in Bourbon or rum. The rum takes on the flavor more quickly than the Bourbon, though.

So you need to split the pods first ?

Only so they fit in the jar. I think I just cut mine in half and sloshed the vodka over the top. Leave it somewhere where you remember to shake every day, and watch it turn deep brown, and smell fantastic (I used to open it and bury my nose in it just 'cos is smelt so nice!)

I use the ones I've already scraped the seeds out for cake or soap purposes (the sugar jar was getting a bit full)

We use Vodka & split the pods length wise & scrape the seeds out & rough chop the pods then put it all in a jam jar with the lid on. We will reuse the contents a few times juts using less Vodka each time.

Apparently it can also be made using glycerol and seeing as we don't do alcohol, we want to experiment with this. It would be just amazing to be able to stop using crappy vanilla "extract".
