Video and mushroom ident...

I spend quite a bit of my time working out in the woods teaching forestry; whilst out this week there were lots and lots of mushrooms, but two types in particular seemed to dominate. So, to aid identification I decided to video them and then check once I got home.

Now, I loathe mushrooms but BahamaMama rather likes them, and our checks led us to conclude that we were looking at edible mushrooms (Parasol Mushroom and Common Puffball - which our books indicated were OK to eat).

I bought a few examples of each home, but before BahamaMama digs into her huge Parasol mushrooms we wondered whether it would be wise to see if others agree with our identification; so I've posted the video for you to watch (just over 1 minute long)...

As far as I could see, I would agree with your IDs.

PS
If you are on the Surrey/Hants border you must be close to me. There have been lots of Parasols around recently! The large open ones can taste not so good if they are old, the closed or part open ones tend to be best.

What's the best way to use the dried parasols? I luckily dried 10 big un's last month so any ideas for them would be gratefully received Smile
